Sprig + Fern Tahuna Take Title of Outstanding Bar

As if another reason was needed to visit the Sprig + Fern Tavern in Tāhunanui, this week the venue claimed a major award win at the Nelson-Tasman Hospitality Awards.

Sprig + Fern Tahuna won the category of Gallagher Insurance Outstanding Bar, against the tough competition of Arden Bar & Kitchen, Hawker House, Kismet Cocktail & Whisky Bar and Red 16.

This builds on an exceptional year for the Tahuna Tavern, having earlier this year claimed a spot on the Top 50 Gastropubs list alongside Sprig + Fern Tawa. Tahuna also notched a place on the list in 2024.

Sprig + Fern Brewing Co. was also recognised on the evening, as a finalist in the category of Outstanding Local Producer. Connings Food Market claimed the overall victory in that category.

The awards were hosted at the Rutherford Hotel Nelson on Monday, 5 May, and were hosted by the Nelson-Tasman branch of Hospitality New Zealand.
