On the 21st Aug 2014 the annual Brewers Guild of New Zealand held it's awards evening in Wellington. During the evening beers and ciders which have been judged to be true to their defined style are awarded Gold, Silver or Bronze medals. A Champion Brewery is announced which achieved the most recognition based on the medals awarded. It is also a time when the industry pays tribute to those who have made a significant and worthy contribution to brewing and beer appreciation in New Zealand.
Tracy Banner and the brewing team went over to Wellington for the event along with other members of the S&F team from both the brewery and several of the taverns.

The Remembering Ernest Festive Brew was based on Scotch Ale and had ingredients found in ANZAC biscuits, oats, syrup and toasted coconut. To complete this beer's flavour, it was aged in a chardonnay barrel.
On top of the 11 medals that were awarded to S&F beer and cider, Tracy Banner was presented with Honorary Membership of the Brewers Guild of New Zealand, the first person to be selected for this prestigious award. This is great honour and comes after over 3 decades working in the brewing industry.
